Why I Love to Travel
I have always loved traveling and I`m sure I got it from my mama. I remember we used to take at least one or two trips abroad every year when I was a child. Like how can you not make your child fell in love with traveling if you take her to riding camels and snorkelling in Egypt and show her the crazy culture of India. Well that`s my mom! And I`m so thankful for her and lucky to travel the world today, because of her I`m not scared to do it and think that every new place I visit is magical. Anyways, here are some of the reasons why I love traveling.
1. It`s an Adventure
Traveling is definitely an adventure and I love adventures. It is a perfect time to do something different and exciting that you won`t do at home. It`s always exiting to land in a new place. And at the end of the travel I always feel a sense of accomplishment and I get a memory of an incredible adventure.
2. It`s Challenging
I hate the feeling when I`m so stuck in a routine of my daily life. I can do it for some time, but then I crave for new experiences and challenges. I love how traveling pushes me to my limits and gets me outside comfort zone. It is definitely the ideal place to test yourself. Don`t you agree with me? Overcoming different challenges always bring me joy and energy for future tests.
3. I can Learn
Learning is a strong reason why I love to travel. I love to experience something unfamiliar and different and leave the place so much wiser. I can say that seeing the world is much more educational than a college or high school class. Don`t get me wrong here, education is so important, and I`m totally planning to get a Master`s degree when I get home, but while traveling you learn more and in a different way for sure. Thanks to traveling I can see how the rest of the world lives and every destination I visit has something unique to teach me.
4. I Get in Touch With Myself
Living in a routine can be strssful and I have felt that I may lose myself from time to time. Have you felt it too? Traveling is for sure one of the best ways to learn more about myself. Every day is different and brings a new set of issues and opportunities. The way I handle them, gives me insight into who I am. And when I come home, I know myself better.
5. I Appreciate Life
Living in a daily life makes it easy to lose sight of what I have and how blessed I actually am. Exploring another place always gives me a fresh appreciation for my country and for the people who are waiting for me. And the more I am away from home, the more I realize how amazing Estonia is. I`m sure when I`m finally back in Estonia, I see that there is actually no place like home.
6. It Builds and Strengthens Relationships
The shared experience of travel really brings people together. As I mentioned before, I used to travel a lot with my mom when I was a child, and it really made our relationship stronger. My mom used to work like 24/7 and when we had that one or two weeks for ourselves, it made us so much closer and we enjoyed being together. And it`s the same now with my boyfriend. We used to fight a lot at home, and I was sure that we won`t last together long. But this trip to Australia and South-East Asia made us so much closer and you know what, we don`t fight and appreciate to have each other in our lives. Oh, and of course traveling is a great way to meet new people and build amazing friendships from all over the world.
7. I Can Escape
Traveling is a perfect way to escape. As I mentioned before, I have escaped a daily routine, but it´s also a great way to escape anything you want. I remember how my most powerful escape was a bad breakup in 2017, I escaped to Greece for the summer alone, my first solo trip. And I came back so much stronger. This trip had a power to let me not only escape but also heal. I returned home more at peace with myself and challenging situations.
